There are many parts to a cigar. While it is not necessary to know them it can't hurt to have a basic knowledge. Below is the main parts of a cigar (visual parts).
Cap - A piece of wrapper leaf placed at the head, or top, of the cigar to secure the wrapper.
Shoulder - The curved or rounded area of a cigar where the cap meets the body.
Head - The closed end of the cigar; the end you smoke.
Band - A loop made of paper or foil fitted around the body of a cigar to show the brand or variety.
Barrel - The main part of the cigar.
Body - The portion of the cigar between the head and the foot.
Foot - The end of the cigar that you light. It can also be called the Tuck.
